Day 12 - Wednesday Jun 22

Weather - Phwoar, what a scorcher. (I'm told I have to say that!) London still in the grip of their 'heat' wave - 29 degrees.

Prob had a few too many Gins and Tonic last night - but hey... we're on holiday.

Caught the tube in again in to Southbank - the requisite medicinal coffee and then boarded a ferry up the Thames to Greenwich. Quite amusing voiceover from a 'roight gee-zah'. Will be a shame if they completely replace them with the homogenised automated narration, as he was suggesting (then again, this could be a ploy for more tips?)

Greenwich was lovely. Very picturesque, and it was good to get out of the heat while walking through the park up to the observatory. Stood on the median, and set my watch to GMT (plus an hour, for Summer time). Had lunch in an organic deli, whose menu promised that the prices didn't include service - and they weren't joking. It was good once we finally got it, slowly melting in the full window glasshouse sun.

Took a tube back into the city, went to the original (250+ yrs old) Twining's store, Trafalgar square and Piccadilly to see Eros. Then back 'home' to pack and refresh ourselves before seeing how the other half live. Jason and Alaina sometimes housesit/catsit for friends of their's at very plush digs in Earl's Court.
